A solar company did an estimate for a solar well pump and it isn't very expensive. Even if the power is out, you would still have water. We planned on starting an organic farm here.

The house is perfect. There is nothing to fix. It had a new roof three years ago. It has new radiant floor heating equipment updated only 6 months ago. Radiant floor heating works perfectly and cats adore it with that nice warm floor! The house also has a woodstove if you need a booster on especially cold days, which don't happen very often in this location.

Another nice thing is that the house is very energy efficient, with 2x6 studs instead of 2x4s, so it has extra insulation, more than a normal house. It stays very cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Electric bill is only $30 per month. In the heat of the summer we only turn the swamp cooler on from noon to 5 pm, and then we can turn it off again since the house doesn't heat up in the sun.

This is a shot from the front porch, a great place to sit and have your morning tea. We see deer every day. If you farm or garden, you'll have to fence it off since those deer seem to like exactly what you don't want them to eat. They are very sweet and friendly though and even play with our cats.

If you have cats, they are safe outside during the day, but at night you will want to bring them in since there are predators. We haven't seen the predators, but we hear they are out there from our neighbors. There aren't many around, but you don't want to take chances with your pets.

Starlight Mountain has another building spot on the 2nd knoll nearby. You can build a mother in law unit or another shop or barn. It is a 2nd high spot on the property, heavenly views and completely private from the house. This is a very peaceful spot and has a lot of potential.
